Make A Facebook Cover Video For Your Business Page That Wows
Do you want to create a video cover for your Facebook Business Page?
In this post, I’ll show you how.
Have you started to notice that certain Facebook Page covers are… moving? It’s not your eyes playing tricks on you. Facebook began to test video covers in April 2017, and now the feature has been rolled out to all Facebook Business Pages.
What are the benefits of a video cover on Facebook?
When a user visits your Facebook Page direct, the cover is the first thing they will see. They’ll probably start scrolling for content, but that first image or video is a unique opportunity to share a positive first impression.
Your Facebook cover tells people who you are, what you do, what you’re like, and what your company is all about. A video cover can offer an even more immersive and engaging way to hook in viewers.
Facebook Cover can be used to:
- Introduce people to your brand and its people
- Share your latest product offering
- Promote an upcoming sale or event, etc.
How to Upload a Facebook Video Cover
Uploading a new Facebook video cover takes just a few steps, along with some tweaking to make sure it looks as good as it can be. You can choose to feature a previously-uploaded video or upload a new one.
My preference is to build and upload a video that is custom-made for your cover; one that will inspire prospect customers and be attention grabbing.
Here’s a quick step-by-step:
Choose an Existing Video from Videos:
Uploading a video as your Facebook cover image is as simple as uploading a new photo. Hover your mouse over the cover image on your Facebook page and you’ll see a camera icon pop up. Click the Change Cover icon.
If you have access to the cover video feature, you’ll see options to select a video from your library (Choose From Videos) or upload a new video (Upload Photo/Video).
Choose a video that meets the technical requirements.
A Facebook cover video must be a minimum of 820 x 312 pixels, with an official recommendation of 820 x 462 pixels.
The video length must be between 20 and 90 seconds. If your video is too long, you’ll need to shorten it before uploading it to Facebook.
Here is my first go at making a Facebook cover video. It’s a simple 20 second video.
If you try to use a video that doesn’t meet the requirements, Facebook won’t let you upload it as a cover video.
Your Facebook Cover Video could take any form you wish. If you’re stumped about which video to choose, use animation to make an otherwise still image come alive.
We’re in the age of video on social media, and plenty of sites are finding new ways to encourage more video. Using a cover video for your Facebook page is an excellent way to tell your brand’s story quickly while simultaneously grabbing users’ attention
